Last night’s promised snowfall amounts to nothing this morning, a dusting so thin it would leave a cake looking unfinished, and newscasters awake from their visions of snowplows and school closings, power outages and pileups, and they sigh behind their iceless windows to face one more day of celebrity sightings and online predation, the snowday they prayed so hard for — the one they deserved! — delivered instead to some other city and to some other newscasters who must have deserved it a little bit more.
