The bee-loud eye ยท 10/19/10

I’ve been waiting eagerly to see the cover Jamie Keenan came up with for The Bee-Loud Glade, and here it is.

I’ll refrain from saying too much about how well this image engages some of main threads of the novel, so you can think about that while you’re reading. But I will mention how closely (and uncannily) this echoes a shape I had in mind often while writing the story — the eyelike view out the roof of Peter Zumthor’s Brother Klaus Field Chapel (which longtime readers may remember from the banner of this site’s earlier design).

Big thanks to Jamie for the design, and to Atticus for enlisting him.
